Firstly, I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone working over the weekend. I know things continue to be very busy for everyone but your continued support is much appreciated.

For those of you who weren’t working this weekend, I hope you managed to get a much deserved break. There is a lot of pressure on us all at the moment and it is vitally important that we look after ourselves and make the most of any downtime we can get.

I know the shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) has been a concern for everyone recently. We are continuing to work around the clock to ensure supplies of PPE reach our front line teams and I would like to thank everyone who has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to get these vital supplies to our workforce.

As you know we have received lots of support from local communities and businesses and much of this support has been initiated through your own networks, as well as the team working in the central hub. Thank you – this is making a real difference.

Thank you again to everyone for their hard work during these challenging times. As always, our thoughts continue to be with those affected by this, especially those that have lost loved ones.

Best wishes, Alan

Alan Foster, executive lead for the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care System
